Police today issued an appeal to help find a stolen motability scooter stolen from outside a Ludlow home. The bright red motorised scooter was taken from outside the owner's home in Steventon New Road at around 11am on Wednesday (Sept 1). Its disabled owner has been left devastated by the theft.

Police Constable Marc Davis, the investigating officer, said: "The lady uses the scooter daily as she is disabled and is understandably very upset."

Police are appealing for witnesses after a service station attendant was punched in the head during a robbery in which fuel was stolen near Shifnal.

Officers were called to Tong Service Station on the A41 after staff became suspicious of a blue, curtain-sided HGV near the storage tanks between about 6pm and 6.20pm yesterday.

When approached by a member of staff, one of the lorry's occupants claimed to be delivering fuel but, knowing that was not the case, the victim began to call the police.

PostHeaderIcon Police Renew Witness Appeal Following Shrewsbury Stabbing

Police today renewed appeals for witnesses to a stabbing incident in a Shrewsbury street which left a 22-year-old man seriously injured.

The incident happened at around 9.50pm on Sunday in the Mardol area of the town centre.

The man, who received a chest wound, was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and later transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke. His condition today was described as stable.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are seeking witnesses to the assault.

Police are appealing for information after items were stolen from a grave at Worfield Cemetery, near Bridgnorth.

A metal plaque bearing the word “Superbike” was taken from a wreath together with a model of an Aprilla motorcycle still in its box.

The theft was reported yesterday (Thursday) but is believed to have taken place between August 13 and 25.

Police are trying to identify this man in connection with the theft of alcohol from a Shrewsbury supermarket.

They believe he may have information which will help their investigation into the theft of two cases of bottled lager from the Co-op store on Mytton Oak Road in Copthorne.

The investigating officer, PC Simon Portman, said: “We would ask this young man to come forward as he may be able to help our inquiries. It’s thought he may have information which will assist the investigation.”

PostHeaderIcon Witness Appeal After Cyclist Dies at Beckbury

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist came off his bike in a village near Shifnal and later died in hospital.

Officers were called to Ryton Road, Beckbury shortly after 12.30pm yesterday, August 22, following reports a man in his 50s has been found lying at the side of the road with his bike.

He was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford for treatment but died later that afternoon.

A motorcyclist was killed and another man injured in a four-vehicle collision at Uffington.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash, which happened on the B5062 at Uffington, near the crossroads for Haughton and Withington at about 9.20pm yesterday, August 22.

A green Audi 80, a silver Ford Focus and a green Mini Cooper were travelling towards Shrewsbury and a two-tone black Suzuki motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction.

Police appealed for information following a robbery at a Shrewsbury pub in which two men forced the landlord to hand over cash.

The attack happened just before midnight (Aug 19) at the Red Lion on Battlefield Road.

It’s thought the two men had been hiding in the premises waiting for customers to leave and the licensee to lock up.

Police Constable Mark Wilding, the investigating officer, said: “The licensee was in the process of locking up when confronted by two men.

In the first exercise of its kind, the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) and British Transport Police have launched a review into a series of unidentified fatalities dating back 35 years.

Twenty artist’s drawings of dead people found on or near Britain’s rail and Tube network since the mid-70s, but who remain unidentified, have been released as part of the review. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding any of the deaths, two of whom were women.
