Lost Boy from China Reunited with his Mum Thanks to Police and Local Restaurant Workers
A little boy from China who got lost in South Shropshire was quickly reunited with his relieved mum thanks to the help of the police and two restaurant staff from Ludlow.
The eight-year-old boy had only arrived in the country on Tuesday July 27, to visit his mum who lives in Cleobury Mortimer.
He had gone for a walk yesterday afternoon but, not knowing the area, had got lost, ending up in the middle of nowhere, over a mile outside the town on the A4117.

Mysterious signs have been attached to the wall of the waste land informing motorists that the land is private and clamping might take place.
The signs are placed quite high on the wall and could easily be missed. The lettering is quite small, but clearly the land is private and motorists have no right to park there.
Nuisance Drivers Educated in Oswestry
Young drivers who cause a nuisance in Oswestry are being advised about their conduct as part of an ongoing crackdown on 'boy racers'.
Alongside enforcement by officers around the Central Car Park area, where a number of complaints had been received about anti-social driving and excessive noise in the evenings, drivers are being offered words of advice about the impact their actions are having on the community.
The car park is now closed between 8pm and 6am every night and coned off to prevent people driving onto it.
School film premiere highlights young people’s emotional wellbeing
A Telford primary school is holding a mini film premiere to showcase a specially-produced DVD that throws the spotlight on the emotional health and wellbeing of young people.
Pupils at Holmer Lake Primary School have starred in and helped to produce the film, which is titled “Mister Pirelli and his Mind-Blowing Corridor of Emotions”.
The premiere will be combined with a celebration of achievement of the pupils involved and takes place tomorrow (JULY 20) at 1.45pm.
Crime Prevention Roadshow on The Wrekin
Preparations are nearly complete ahead of a Crime Prevention Roadshow that is to take place on the Forest Glen Car Park at The Wrekin on Saturday 17th July.
The event, from 10am until 4pm, is being organised by PC Judith Macpherson, Local Police Officer for the Wellington Rural ward, and the Local Policing Teams based at Wellington Police Station with support from Telford & Wrekin’s Safer and Stronger Communities Partnership and the Shropshire Wildlife Trust.

New memorial is first to recognise sacrifice of Spiritualists
A service on 10th July 2010 will mark the dedication of Spiritualists' first ever memorial to members that have served in the UK Armed Forces. The imposing memorial, which features a tall granite obelisk, will be unveiled at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.
Cannabis Recovered from Hedge between Shrewsbury and Telford
Two Shrewsbury community support officers discovered a large amount of cannabis plants hidden in a hedge after concerns were raised by a member of the public.
CSOs Lyn Birch and Mark Barnes were carrying out community engagement at Withington fete on the afternoon of Saturday June 19, when they were informed about a suspicious quantity of plants that appeared to have been dumped in a nearby lane.
When they attended, they found at least five large cannabis plants, each about 4ft high, along with pots and what appeared to be cultivation equipment.
Council launches Plastics Recycling - Back of the Net!
Plastics are set to hit the back of the net on the borough's streets this month as plastic recycling is introduced to Telford & Wrekin's kerbside collection service.
A booklet will be delivered to all homes in the borough, along with a distinctive orange net designed to hold plastic recyclables, starting on 21 June to mark National Recycling Week.
An article in the community magazine Insight and themed advertisements in local newspapers will support the campaign and advise residents how best to use the new service and what may or may not be recycled.
Teenage girl Injured in Catapult assault
An 18-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being struck on the head by an orange fired from a catapult at Bridgnorth. The incident happened at around 2pm on Friday (May 28) in the Severn Park.
She was struck on the back of the head, suffering a cut ear and injuries to her neck. She was treated in hospital but not detained.
Police Constable Mark Fletcher, the investigating officer, today appealed for witnesses to come forward.
"It seems the orange was fired from a catapult-type instrument causing the victim to collapse to the ground.
