Anniversary Checks One Week on from Shifnal RTC
March 12th, 2010Police are to carry out anniversary checks one week on from a serious road collision on the outskirts of Shifnal. Officers have also renewed an appeal for witnesses to the incident.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, remains in hospital in critical but stable condition following the crash, which happened in Haughton Road just after 4pm on Saturday (MAR 6).
A red Volkswagen Golf was in collision with the roadside verge and a tree stump, suffering extensive damage and seriously injuring two of the occupants. A third man suffered minor injuries.
Six foot man in Oakengates street robbery
March 12th, 2010Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Oakengates. The incident occurred close to Stafford Road on Thursday 11th March.
At just before 10pm, as the victim – a 30-year-old man – walked along a footpath towards the mini roundabout by Oakengates Theatre, he was approached by two unknown men. Without warning, the men grabbed the victim and pushed him off the footpath into a more secluded spot.
The men then threatened the victim and demanded that he hand over his belongings.

Telford Police officers are appealing for help from the public as they attempt to identify the owner of a ring they discovered when four male youths were arrested on suspicion of theft and assault in Telford town centre on Wednesday 10th March.
Public meetings in Donnington
March 11th, 2010The Donnington Partnership – a multi-agency group set up in the ward to work with local people to tackle quality of life issues – have confirmed that they will be holding the first in a series of newly launched public ‘workshop sessions’ on Monday 15th March.
The sessions are being launched in an attempt to engage with more local residents via a new forum and give them the opportunity to share their concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour with the organisations that can help to address them.

Appeal for Wanted Man
March 11th, 2010West Mercia Police is appealing for information on the whereabouts of a wanted man. James ‘Jimmy’ Stevens is wanted for a breach of his licence conditions, one of which is for him to reside in Worcester.
Detective inspector Jim Fox, of South Worcestershire Police, said: “James Stevens is wanted by police and we would ask anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact us urgently. He could be in the Worcester area but has strong connections with Telford.
Six men charged in human trafficking investigation
March 11th, 2010Detective Superintendent Steve Cullen has confirmed that six men will this morning be appearing at Telford Magistrates Court charged with a number of human trafficking offences.
The charges have been brought as part of an ongoing, long-term operation into human trafficking and sexual offences that is being conducted in conjunction with a number of partner agencies.

Renewed Appeal for Witnesses over Missing Shrewsbury Teenager
March 10th, 2010Detectives leading the search for a Shrewsbury teenager who has not been seen or heard from in over a month today renewed an appeal for information.
Officers continue to actively investigate the disappearance of Hayden Reynolds-Evans, 18, who was last seen when he left The Albion Vaults pub in the town centre just after 10pm on Monday, 1st February.
A specialist team was brought in yesterday(MAR 9) to carry out a search of the River Severn using sonar equipment, the results of which are currently being analysed.

Burglary in Wellington
March 10th, 2010Police officers in Wellington are appealing for information following a burglary in the town. The incident occurred at an address on St Margaret’s Drive sometime between 4.20pm on Friday 5th March and 5pm on Saturday 6th March.
Sometime during the time period in question it appears that thieves entered a garage that adjoins the property by opening an insecure door. Once inside the garage it appears the thieves carried out a thorough search before stealing a number of items and making their escape.
Assault at Telford Bus Station
March 10th, 2010Police officers are investigating an assault in Telford Shopping Centre. The incident occurred at the bus station on Tuesday 9th March.
At just after 6pm it appears that the victim, a 19-year-old woman, was waiting for her bus when four girls started to behave in quite an intimidating manner. One of the girls pushed a lady who was waiting for another bus and the victim stepped in and told the girl to leave the lady alone.
The girl responded by punching the victim in the face before getting on to a nearby bus with the other three girls and leaving the scene.
Warrants executed in Telford underage sex allegation case
March 10th, 2010Chief Superintendent James Tozer has confirmed that West Mercia Police Officers have executed a number of warrants at addresses in Telford under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
The warrants were executed as the latest part of an ongoing long term, multi-agency investigation in Telford & Wrekin and as a result of the warrants six men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking and are currently in custody at three police stations across West Mercia.
