PostHeaderIcon Police warning: “Market Drayton thief puts horses at risk”

Police are investigating a series of incidents in which a field fence at Market Drayton has been vandalised and sections stolen.

The field, on the outskirts of the town off Flash Lane, Tern View, is bordered by a public footpath and has been leased for keeping horses.

The fence has been erected to keep the horses from straying and their owner is concerned the repeated damage will lead to them escaping. He has reported the incidents to the police who are trying to trace the culprits.

PostHeaderIcon Car Parts Stolen from Shawbury Garage

At least £5,000 worth of exterior trim has been stolen from a car on the forecourt of a garage in Shawbury.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed suspicious activity around J N H Cars in Edgebolton, on the main A53, between about 11pm on Saturday (SEP 4) and 1am yesterday (SEP 5) to contact them on 0300 333 3000.

The rear bumper, side skirts, wing mirrors and side repeaters from a red Vauxhall Corsa VXR special edition were removed, among other parts.

PostHeaderIcon Bikes stolen

Police in Shrewsbury are appealing for information after two high value bikes were stolen in separate incidents in two different parts of town.

Both bikes had been locked up when they were stolen, meaning the offenders would have likely been in the areas for some time.

Between about 6pm and 9pm yesterday (SEP 5), a black Giant Terrago mountain bike was stolen from the bike racks at Cineworld in Old Potts Way.

The bike, which is only 12 months old, has silver markings on the frame and a distinctive mug guard at the front.

Nearly 600 street name signs will be repaired or replaced in Telford and Wrekin thanks to members of the public getting involved with an initiative aimed at cleaning up the borough.

Residents have been asked to act as the eyes of a new initiative by letting the council know if the street name sign at the end of their street is in need of some attention.

PostHeaderIcon Donnington sexual assault assistance appeal

Detective Constable Allan Black, who works in CID at Malinsgate Police Station, has appealed for assistance from the public as he continues to investigate a serious sexual assault that occurred in Donnington last month. The incident occurred sometime between 11.45am and 12.30pm on Monday 23rd August close to the Aldi supermarket on Wellington Road.

The victim, a 38-year-old woman, got off a bus at the bus stop on Wellington Road and then took shelter under some trees on the recreation ground while she waited for the heavy rain to stop.

PostHeaderIcon Drug warrant executed in Oakengates

Three men have this morning been arrested after police officers from the North and Newport Local Policing Teams (LPTs) executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property on Holyhead Road in Oakengates.

The warrant was executed at 8am on Friday 3rd September as a result of intelligence developed by the Ketley & Oakengates LPT and information received from members of the public via the anonymous Crimestoppers telephone number.

PostHeaderIcon Appeal to Trace Stolen Motability Scooter

Police today issued an appeal to help find a stolen motability scooter stolen from outside a Ludlow home. The bright red motorised scooter was taken from outside the owner's home in Steventon New Road at around 11am on Wednesday (Sept 1). Its disabled owner has been left devastated by the theft.

Police Constable Marc Davis, the investigating officer, said: "The lady uses the scooter daily as she is disabled and is understandably very upset."

PostHeaderIcon Suspicious package declared safe

A suspicious package found at RAF Cosford yesterday was declared safe yesterday evening after the package was checked by the Explosives Ordnance Depot. It was a parcel of a non-suspicious nature and the cordon and road closure was then lifted immediately at 6.45pm.
 

PostHeaderIcon Security Alert at RAF Cosford over suspect package

Military and civilian police are dealing with a security alert at RAF Cosford following the discovery of a suspect package.

A 200-metre has been set up as a precautionary measure while the package is checked.

The A41 road, which runs near the camp, has been closed and diversions set up.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were informed by RAF Cosford just after 3.20pm that a suspect package had been found within the camp.
