St John Ambulance appeal for first aid stories
Shropshire’s St John Ambulance is appealing for people to come forward with real-life stories of how first aid helped them. The charity, which trains hundreds of thousands of people nationwide in life-saving first aid skills every year, wants to hear how first aid, from stemming severe bleeds to putting someone in the recovery position, has made a difference to Shropshire folk.
Wrekin MP Mark Pritchard to meet rail minister on overcrowding issue
Wrekin MP, Mark Pritchard, is to meet with Rail Minister, Chris Mole MP, over what the Wrekin MP calls: "dangerously over crowded trains" and what the MP called the "Sardine Express" between Telford and Birmingham.
The MP who has been a vocal critic of Arriva Trains Wales trains services recently challenged Transport Minister Sadiq Khan MP about the health and safety risks of over crowded trains.
Renewed Appeal Over Missing Shrewsbury Teenager
Concern is growing for the welfare of a Shrewsbury man who has not been seen or heard from in three days.
Hayden Reynolds-Evans, 18, was last seen leaving through the rear door of The Albion Vaults pub in Castle Foregate, having got off a train at the Railway Station just after 10pm on Monday (FEB 1).
He was due to meet with some friends at The Bird In Hand pub in Coton Hill but never arrived and police are extremely concerned about his wellbeing.
Rail travellers delayed
Rail travellers going to London Marylebone and the West Midlands were delayed during the morning commute, Wellington News can reveal.
The 8.21 Wrexham and Shropshire to London Marylebone arrived at Wellington at 9.00 and other trains were as late as 45 minutes.

Safer families this Christmas, thanks to ROSPA
Thousands of families across the country are getting ready for a safer Christmas thanks to a pioneering RoSPA scheme – the largest of its type in the world.
Safe At Home, the national home safety equipment scheme, is now running in almost 60 areas across England. It is celebrating its first Christmas and looking forward to serving many more families in the new year.
Missing girl sought by Telford police
Police Officers in Telford have appealed for information as they attempt to trace a vulnerable 15-year-old girl who has gone missing from Brookside.
Natasha Colton – or ‘Tasha’ as she is known to her friends - has not been seen since she boarded a train at Telford Central Station at 5.30pm on Thursday 17th December. Her family have had little contact with her since she went missing and concerns are now growing for her well being as it is unlike her not to make contact with family or friends.
Chaos on the line. Dozens stranded at stations
Dozens of rail users who wanted to travel on a train from Wellington to Wolverhampton were left at railway stations between Wellington and Wolverhampton last Sunday, Wellington News can reveal.
The 10.24 train from Wellington started from Aberystwyth and being of two carriages, was already standing room only when it arrived at Wellington.
Hundreds of train passengers delayed by signal fault
Hundreds of passengers at stations between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton were delayed this morning due to a failure of signal equipment at Shrewsbury.
Some trains were ending their journey at Wellington station's bay platform, whilst others were delayed or even cancelled.
Rail tour to York
Spitfire Railtours are organising a special rail day out to the ancient Viking city of York. The train will carry stsndard and first class coaches and a dining service.
It will take place on Saturday 28th November and will depart Telford at 07.31 and Wellington at 07.39. Returning at 21.34. You will have around 5 and a half hours in York.
Attractions available will be the St Nicholas Fayre Christmas Market, the York Railway Museum, The Minster, The Shambles, etc.
