Hundreds of people enjoyed free activities at the opening of a new cycle track. A total refurbishment of the previous ball court and a new cycle track at Pageant Drive, Aqueduct was officially opened. It was organised by the Aqueduct youth engagement group, supported by partners including Telford Police, Wrekin Housing Trust, Aqueduct school and Dawley Hamlets Parish Council.

The group wanted to celebrate their involvement in the project, inform the community of the free facilities and recruit more volunteers for the next project.

BMX coaching by Wrekin Riders BMX club, demonstrations and races took place on the day with people of all ages joining.

There were a host of free activities like a clown, break dancing, art, surf simulator, juice bar, face painting, a bungee run and a health and beauty stand.

Telford FM and Telford Stage School also took part and a football competition between the police and the Aqueduct Youth Engagement group took place.

A joint funding package of £95,000 was put together by the Big Lottery and TWC for the project. Funding for the event came from the Youth Opportunity Fund and secured by Aqueduct youth engagement group.
