Telford Police officers have confirmed that, this morning, they have arrested three men in relation to a report they received at 9.35pm on Sunday evening (15th November) that a firearm had been discharged outside an address on Doddington in Hollinswood.

The arrests have been made as a result of enquiries that have continued in the Hollinswood area over the past three days and the arrested men are currently in police custody.

Detective Inspector John Elcock, Senior Investigating Officer on this case, said: “I can confirm we have arrested three men on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder as part of our investigation into Sunday’s incident and that they will be questioned during the course of the day. It is highly unlikely that we will be able to offer further information about these arrests today though.

“However, I would like to stress that the fact we have people in custody does not mean that the enquiry is over and that it remains vital anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Doddington area on Sunday comes forward and shares that information with us. Equally if any person has any, more specific information about this incident then they are asked to make contact with us as soon as they can.

“West Mercia Police can be contacted directly by calling 0300 333 3000, but please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you have information you’d like to pass on without identifying yourself.

“I’d also like to reassure local residents that we are doing all we can to establish exactly what did happen in Hollinswood on Sunday night and that there is no reason for them not to go about their lives in exactly the way they normally do.”
