Councillor Pauline Picken has died. Mrs Picken served as a councillor for 12 years from 1991, representing first the Ketley Bank ward on Wrekin District Council and, following Telford & Wrekin Council achieving unitary status, the Ketley ward. She was a former Deputy Leader of the Council and was a leading councillor on housing issues.

She was also a member of both Lawley & Overdale and Ketley Parish Councils and had been chair of the Wrekin Housing Group.

Mayor of Telford & Wrekin Cllr Karen Blundell said: “Pauline was a very valued colleague who worked tirelessly for the good of the people of her ward and the wider borough and is a great loss to Telford and Wrekin.

“On behalf of everyone at Telford & Wrekin Council, we would like to express our condolences to her family and particularly her husband and fellow councillor Roy at this difficult time.”
