New Community Choir to meet for first time
Local singers are being urged to sign up to the new Telford and Wrekin Community Choir – which meets for the first time on November 25. The choir meets in the Dawley House Community Hall in Burton Street and is open to anyone aged 10 and over.
It is open to any singing ability and aims to be fun and light hearted with participants singing well known music.
The choir will be led by Paul Wilcox and Phaedra Brickwood and the cost is £1 per person. The first meeting will take place from 6.30-8pm.
Anyone interested in attending can get more information by calling 01952 380981.
The choir will be funded by Telford and Wrekin Music and Telford’s Find Your Talent programme.
Councillor Stephen Burrell, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “This initiative is the latest cultural activity being developed under the Find Your Talent programme and promises to bring together people from all walks of life and all ages who share a love of singing.”
Telford & Wrekin Council is one of 10 councils nationwide chosen to run Find Your Talent. The programme helps children and young people express themselves through different cultural and creative activities such as music, art, film, theatre, dance, digital media, exploring libraries, museums or heritage.
