Food delivery man attacked in Wellington

Wellington Police officers are appealing for information following an assault in the town. The incident occurred on Pooler Close on Friday 5th February.

Sometime between 8.30pm and 9pm, as the victim, a 31-year-old man, delivered food to an address on Pooler Close, he was approached by two unknown men who grabbed him by the shoulders and pushed against a wall.

The men demanded money from the victim but because he did not have anym they were unable to rob him. On seeing the victim had nothing of value to steal, one of the men punched him in the face before fleeing the scene on foot with the other man in the direction of the nearby housing estate.

A police spokesman said: “Although nothing was stolen from the victim as a result of this incident, he suffered bruising and swelling above his left eye after being hit by one of the men.

“The victim has been able to give police descriptions of the two men who grabbed him. The first is described as being white, aged between 25 and 30, as being over 6ft tall, wearing a black jacket and as possibly having a Scottish accent.

“The second man is described as also being white, aged between 25 and 30 and as being more than 6ft tall. However, he is also described as wearing glasses and as wearing a dark hooded top with writing on the front.

“Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident, or who recognises the two offenders from the descriptions given, is asked to contact police."

Theft in Dawley

Police in Telford are investigating following a theft in Dawley. The incident occurred at an address on Webb Crescent on Saturday 6th February.

Sometime between 5pm and 6pm it appears thieves entered the front garden at the property and stole a bike that was leaning against the wall next to the side door. The bike – a chrome coloured Diamond Back Viper with a broken right pedal – is thought to be worth around £200.

 

Robbery in Haybridge

Police officers are investigating after two men were robbed in Hadley in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident occurred on Haybridge Road on Saturday 6th February.

Sometime between 2.40am and 2.55am as the victims – two 17-year-old men – walked from the 24 hour garage towards Haybridge Road, they were approached by a group containing three unknown men.

As the men approached the victims one of them demanded they hand over their mobile phones. When the victim refused to hand over their phones one of the men attempted to hit one of the victims. Fortunately he missed with his punch.

Another of the men then said that he was going to give the victims five seconds to hand over their belongings if they wanted to avoid being beaten up. Feeling threatened the victims handed over their phones – a Sony Ericsson W 880i and a Sony Ericsson Cyber Shot – and also a black MP3 player.

Having stolen the property the three men then made off down a nearby alleyway and disappeared out of sight.

The three robbers are all described as being in their mid 20s and as wearing ‘hoodies’ – one of which was cream and another dark blue.
