Wellington Amateurs have been named the West Midlands Regional League Division One Futbol Club of the Month Award for November and Amateurs manager Mike Armstrong has won the manager of the month award for the Same period.Amateurs played five matches in the month, winning them all including knocking Premier Division side Shawbury United out of the Shropshire County Challenge Cup. The Amateurs had no fixture last Saturday but face a crucial match this weekend when title challengers Bilbrook are the visitors to School Grove for a 2pm kick-off.

AFC Telford United have been drawn at home against Blue Square South outfit Hayes and Yeading United in the Second Round of the FA Trophy. The London based side beat Blue Sqaure Premier strugglers Grays Athletic 2-0 on Tuesday night after their match at Church Road fell victim to the weather last Saturday.

Brown goal steals points for Telford
In front of a bumper crowd that topped 3,500 AFC Telford United took maximum points from top-of-the-table Southport.
With Telford defending an unbeaten home record and Southport defending an unbeaten away record a tight match was forecast by all, with few chances for either team in a tight and nervy first-half.
Southport’s lively midfielder Mark Duffy had the first chance of the match but his ninth minute shot flashed across the face of Ryan Young’s goal and away to safety.
Amateurs romp to five-goal win
Wellington Amateurs romped to a 5-0 win against Riverway at School Grove on Saturday. In-form striker Chris Brownlow gave the Ams an interval lead. The floodgates opened in the second-half when Lewis Welch scored on his return to the side after injury. Brownlow completed his double before super-sub Danny Hickling came off the bench to score two late goals.
Top of the table Amateurs are now twelve points clear of their nearest rivals Warley Development although they have played one more match.
